My students are average 7th grade kids. They're rambunctious, awkward, and hilarious. I care about them as if they are my own children, and I desperately want to do everything I can to help them succeed. Because the majority of my kids fall within the 2nd-6th grade range for reading, it is absolutely critical for me to help them become better readers. The better readers they are, the more successful they will be in ALL subject areas and ultimately in life. I am confident my experience as an English teacher and Reading Interventionist (seeing success in even the most intense, difficult situations) will continue to help me increase my students' reading skills. I've collected quite a few books over the years but lost about half of my classroom library while on maternity leave last school year. I can't afford to replace each item that has gone missing and sincerely hope I can pull more high-interest resources to replace those that I have lost. My kids crave engaging materials!
