My students live in rural southern Wisconsin. They are varied in their interests and their economic backgrounds. But they are all fun, enthusiastic and amazing middle schoolers that want to get things done! My students are 7th graders (12-13 years old), and they are just discovering the world of Facebook, Instagram, and all the other fascinating social tools out there. They are digital natives and love when I "speak their language." I have created a safe environment for social and educational interaction to help them learn social studies and learn how to behave in an appropriate way online. They love to check in with each other and ask for help with their classes through the social channel we've created.
