I teach a spirited group of gifted third graders. They were quite excited when I read Brian Greene's book Icarus At The Edge Of Time. They were absolutely fascinated with black holes. In the spring I attended a book talk given by Lucy Hawking. She and her physicist father, Stephen Hawking, have written two children's novels that not only deal with adventure but include many factual anecdotes regarding space including black holes.
