Our California Distinguished School, has an 85% poverty rate, and a very high population of limited English and non-English speakers. Students at our school have MINIMAL life experiences in which to connect new information. They have not seen, nor done, what the "average" American has had the opportunity to experience. Our 6th graders, now are being given a once-in-a-lifetime chance to "level the playing field."

About my class

Our California Distinguished School, has an 85% poverty rate, and a very high population of limited English and non-English speakers. Students at our school have MINIMAL life experiences in which to connect new information. They have not seen, nor done, what the "average" American has had the opportunity to experience.
