Students at our K - 8 Charter school are from a low-income area in a family-orientated neighborhood of Philadelphia. Many of these students have not been exposed to other parts of the world, let alone the country or even areas outside of our neighborhood. Exposure to a second language at such a young age will expose them to a population and language that they would not have access to outside of our school.
