My students are from the inner city and they range in grades from PK through eighth grade. We have over 700 students with a large ESL population, consisting mainly of Spanish and Portuguese. My students come from poor households and school is a haven for them where they are provided with breakfast, lunch and a fruit or vegetable snack every day. After-school programs provide child care, afternoon snack, homework help and a variety of activities for these students.
