It's a small town high school. The community around us prides itself in having that small town feel. Most of the students in my classes have parents (and some even grandparents) that went to this same school years ago. The roots run deep in this community. When there is a parade on Main Street, a soapbox derby, or a choir concert at the train depot, everyone from the community shows up in support. These local events serve as perfect opportunities for the students in my video production and broadcasting classes to have real life experience reporting on local events that matter. They have a passion for broadcasting, a commitment to their local community, and a willingness to put in the hard work to achieve journalistic excellence. Right now, the only thing stopping them is the lack of decent equipment.
