My students are curious children who strive to make sense of the world they live in. They are beginning to understand that they can learn about themselves through the eyes of a character, understand relationships, hardships, etc. In addition, my students need more background knowledge to bring to their reading experience. This broadens their perception of the world they live in and will allow them to appreciate the gifts around them.
