Learning doesn't just have to happen in the classroom. In fact, many of our students in special education do better when they are given alternative ways to learn. A sensory room filled with cushions, balance bars, crash pads, trampolines, and hand fidgets are beneficial for students on the autism spectrum, those with a learning disability, sensory or developmental delay, and behavioral issues. Sensory rooms can help children learn how to regulate their emotions to better be able to focus for school. The sensory equipment helps with hand-eye coordination, communication skills, internal emotional regulation, and hypo/hypersensitivity. Our classroom filled with this equipment will better serve students and their individual learning needs.
