My students have very diverse needs. Taking on their specific needs requires an organized system of small groups and centers both in the areas of literacy and math. In an effort to promote active collaborative learning for my students, I am requesting hands on materials and games in math, reading, and language building. My students need organized math and literacy centers that will foster everyday collaboration and learning. They are a group of students that love to learn, if they are able to be active throughout the process. Students benefit from small group instruction. Math and reading games will allow my students to remain engaged and enjoy learning and practicing key academic and collaboration skills. The reading and math games requested for my project will serve as instructional supplements as well as small group activities. My students need support to increase their word building and reading comprehension skills. The math games and activities requested will help build and support my students' need for basic math foundations. Once students are able to demonstrate proficiency with the foundational skills then they will be able to move to the higher level activities and incorporate skills and strategies in their daily learning.
