Help do the "heavy lifting" of learning by funding fantastic & engaging educational tools! I am the K-5 and Exemplary Project Teacher at a suburban school just outside Washington, DC. Our school is a tapestry of diversity with students hailing from 22 different countries and speaking 19 different languages at home. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch and live in neighborhood apartments. As a neighborhood school using the Kennedy Center's Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) focus, our school functions beyond the traditional norm. We are a community hub that brings together parents, students, teachers, and neighbors. With many newcomers and students/families who are new to the English language, our school works hard to find innovative ways to educate, empower, and welcome these new families.
