All the furniture materials will make a difference in my students' learning by creating a flexible classroom for personalized learning where my students will be able to select for themselves the environment that serves their needs. It will allow my students' to make choices and be challenged to determine where they will learn best each day. My students will get so excited , engaged, motivated, challenged and inspired when working at a flexible seating option. By creating a flexible classroom, it will also create a culture that encourages our learners to work independently as well as with a partner or group. I would love to have comfortable office chairs for my students to sit and a futon sofa so my students can sit comfortably doing their learning. I want them to sense a community of learning. I would also want a horseshoe activity table so that I can meet one-on-one or with a small group of students who I need to meet to connect/assist at a deeper level with their learning or social-emotional learning. I also want a couple of stand-up desks for students who desire to learn while standing up. My students will also be willing to monitor their learning and growth in their Reflection Binders/Data Binders. Their Reflection Binders/Data Binders will encourage them to grow and mature in their learning. If I were granted this opportunity to give my students a flexible classroom for personalized learning, my students will THRIVE in their learning, because they will be given the option of where to sit so that they can learn. This will not only be a great experience for each and every one of them but guarantee that they can experience learning by their choice of seating.
