Junior English students will have greater access to contemporary fiction and non-fiction that interests them and that is similar to what college classes might ask them to read. Students will have the opportunity to compare these works to their whole class readings and do reports and analysis on these texts. Senior English students will read Exit West as a class, using it as a compelling springboard to inspire research on current migration and refugees around the world. Their research will teach them critical college research skills. They will present their findings in dynamic presentation formats such as videos and Ted Talks.
