My students are 8th graders between the ages of 12-14 years old. They are extremely diverse in race, culture, socioeconomic status, and language. Many of them struggle with reading at or even close to grade level. Many more struggle with school in general, attendance, behavior, and any meaningful connection to education. Reading and having books available is but one way to open student's eyes and their worlds to change, to possibility.
