Our school is a Title I school located in a highly transient, military-affiliated community. We are faced with the challenge of meeting academic needs of economically disadvantaged students and those students who traditionally move on a regular basis. The students in our school have varied degrees of academic abilities, from highly gifted to extremely learning disabled. Because of the inclusion initiative, classrooms are formed to included students with mixed abilities. Instruction in the classroom is differentiated to meet the needs of individual students and promote the advancement of the class as a whole. Despite our challenges, the students achieve high levels of academic success. In the 2011-2012 school year, 90% of the students met or exceeded expectations in Mathematics on the state standardized assessment. Our students are highly motivated and eager to learn!
