We are a 7th grade class in a very low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles county. We have 90% free and reduced lunch. Many of the students that I have are English Learners. Many of students in my class only get two meals a day and those are the ones that the school offers. There are many distractions for these students in and out of class that are out of their control. Even with a lot of the cards stacked up against our students they work very hard to try and learn in a safe and caring environment.
