My students are wonderful kids with great smiles and attitudes (for the most part!) They want what most kids want - attention, recognition, support and to be a part of a community. The problem is that many of them rarely get that outside of school. They have a ton of potential but much of their talent is getting squandered because they don't know how to use it. I believe the book OUTLIERS, by Malcom Gladwell, will provide them with an understanding of how to be a productive & successful person - not just a good student.
