We expect that building digital learning portfolios will help us to own our learning and to build 21st century skills (collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication). We will organize our portfolios to focus on the seven student learning behaviors that our school district identified as important for success: 1. What am I learning and why is it important? 2. How do I check where I am in my learning? 3. What do I do if I need help or challenge? 4. What strategies do I use to learn? 5. How am I interacting with others to increase my learning? 6. How do I set goals and track my progress? 7. How do I demonstrate what I've learned? For example, one strategy for learning (learning behavior #4) could be collaborative note-taking. As we learn about a topic, we could share the notes through Google drive so everybody contributes to create a high quality, shared document. This process requires communication and collaboration skills to be effective.
