Our school is a mostly Latino urban school with about 85% of our students on free lunch. We have opened a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) class to help them discover what the future has in store for them. Statistics show that Latinos often lag behind in the areas of technology and engineering. Our students show a tremendous enthusiasm, they apply themselves in the area of Mathematics, working hard. Due to all the catastrophic cuts that have occurred to the schools in California, we work with minimum budgets, without computers or the necessary technology needed to fully implement our STEM program, however, our students keep working.
