Lately I've been getting very discouraged by the lack of engagement I get from some of our students. While school used to be amusing and a good enough reason for my students to wake up every day, now they don't seem to care as much. Some come late to Zoom, some don't come at all... and how can I blame them? Being home all day is hard, but most especially for my little 6 and 7 year olds who have so much energy saved up inside and nowhere to go or no one to play with. This Valentine's Day I hope tho show them that I really do care about their emotional well-being and that being home all the time doesn't have to be so bad. With the materials in this project, I hope to surprise my kids for Valentine's Day, so that they may draw, read, and color as much as they want and remember that those skills they have are thanks to schooling! Maybe that will put a smile back on their faces and help remind them that we're all in this together. Only with combined efforts and positive energy, will we get through this.
