I just graduated in December and obtained a first grade teaching position! I teach 24, very energetic, first graders in a rural, low income, Title 1, East Texas town. The class is composed of Special Education Inclusion students and general education students. The students come from lower socio-economic backgrounds and receive free or price-reduced breakfast and lunches. Despite challenges my students may face, they come to school with smiles on their faces and eager to learn. I want to be able to give them as many fun experiences in school as I can. They deserve the opportunity to continue to love school and learn as much as they can while in my classroom.
