I teach wonderful 6th grade students English in San Diego, CA. We have a blast reading, writing, presenting, and creating projects as they transition from elementary to secondary schools. My students prepare for the rest of middle school and high school through narrative, expository, argumentative, and poetry units. I also teach a reading and writing support class for 7th and 8th grade students who need extra strategies to be successful in all their classes. Engaging materials for that class is key to keep at risk students involved and growing. At my site, I am also department chair and lead yoga club after school for students and teachers who want to relax and strengthen their bodies.
