I work in a school where 95% of students receive free or reduced lunch and on average about 2 % of our students are homeless or are living with relatives. The supplies being requested, such as folders, erasers, and highlighters, will help students have the needed supplies for the school year and relieve displaced families from the burden of trying to figure out how to get the school supplies their children need. In my district, many teachers and staff try to buy supplies on their own as well, but it is not always enough to fulfill the demand. This project will help families that are displaced and children who should be concentrating on school and not worry about having what they need in order to be successful.

About my class
