For my students, having technology and even extra reading material at home is a luxury. A majority of my 22 students receive free and/or reduced lunch and also receive weekend food backpacks. The students come to school from various types of homes but most lack the necessities of having a computer, Internet, or cable. In the classroom, I mostly use technology to teach and the students learn best from the lessons that are taught this way. Having hand held technology that is targeted towards their learning will encourage them to have a love for learning and reading.
