My students are in grades K-2 in an urban setting. They struggle with reading for a variety of reasons. Some are simply acquiring English as a second language. Others have mild learning disabilities. They want so much to be able to pick up books to read and discuss with their friends. It is so important for them to begin to develop measurable success early so they won't give up. So many changes can happen at this young age that we have to make sure there is success every day. They love stories, pictures and games that help them to learn. They are incredibly helpful to all their friends.

About my class
