The students in my classroom are some of the hardest working students I have ever met. Over 90% of the students in our school qualify for free or reduced lunch and face many hardships at home and in their communities. Despite these challenges my students come to school each day ready to learn not just one but two languages. They believe so strongly in becoming bilingual individuals that they are at school each day for over 9 hours; even as kindergartners. Students begin talking about college and the importance of their education from the day they enter school. It truly is an inspiring place to go to work each day!
