My students and I are incredibly lucky that our school is able to have a one-to-one laptop program. Every student gets to borrow a laptop for the year to use in and out of classes. The problem is that the laptops don't hold a charge and I only have a few outlets in my room. We need to plug in. I teach at a college preparatory charter school in an urban setting in Colorado. My students are a diverse group socioeconomically and ethnically, and we all work hard towards our shared goal of attending a four year college of our choice. Our school has some great technological resources, including our laptops and networks, but students can't use their laptops in my reading class because we don't have enough outlets!
