My students are wonderful 1st graders who have been caught by the reading bug. Though our school is located in a poverty area in southern Colorado, my students have not let that obstacle hinder their love for reading. It has taken many hours to get where we are, but my students are now reading to themselves and a partner for 30 minutes every day. We are desperately in need of new books because with all the use, my personal books are now falling apart. We also need a larger selection to keep students engaged in their reading.
