Twelve years ago our Kindergarten through 8th Grade S.I.N.I. (School in Need of Improvement) public school introduced an Arts Integration program. The program has been so successful that our students reading and math scores have skyrocketed and our school is now a designated “School For The Arts”, acting as a mentor program to other teaching professionals. For the past 6 years our students have written and produced their own play. Last year they rewrote their play to "Take It On The Road" to other schools, nursing homes, hospitals and educational meetings where they can hone and showcase their drama skills.
