Flexible seating has been shown to increase student engagement among students. Giving them the choice as to where to sit enables them more freedom to decide what is best for their learning style. Some students like to sit on the floor, some like a chair while others prefer to stand. Anytime I go to a meeting with adults, there are adults doing all of these as well. Students should be able to make the same choices for themselves. Wobble Seats and Comfy Seats! Students need a variety of seating options which will allow them to learn the best. Offering them a variety of spaces will increase engagement and will provide a comfortable learning space for all students.I have many kinesthetic learners in my room. These seating choices will allow them to move about the room so that they can learn in a space that is best for them. They will not be confined to the limitations that desks have for some learners. This will allow students the freedom to choose where to sit so that they can attain the most knowledge and be the best learner.
