These books will be used to grow life long learners with a variety of interests. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. Using dynamic and engaging texts I have watched my students go from no interest in books to reading and recreating the stories we have read during choice time. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to grow in literacy skills as well as social emotional skills and interactions. As students with special education needs we use books to practice many skills, including identifying emotions and their causes, asking and answering questions, engagement with a speaker, as well as the traditional skills of reading and listening comprehension and understanding text features.
