This year I'd like to bring technology to the fingertips of the students in my class. The Kindle Fire is a versatile tool that appeals to and engages students. I believe that the addition of this technology will provide extremely engaging experiences with quality time on task to reach all levels of learning in a variety of subjects. This tool will allow all students to access academic materials that are tailored to their learning needs. A small group of students will use the Kindle Fire tablets as I guide another group of students in a differentiated lesson to meet the needs of all. Meanwhile there are two more groups engaged in hands-on lessons of their own. Students who struggle with reading a text will have the opportunity to listen to stories being read aloud to them while the words read are highlighted before their eyes. The Kindle Fire will also help reach the students that need more challenging books and activities to keep their spirit for learning ignited. Similar activities are accessed on the tablet in a wide range of subjects, too. The opportunities for learning within the Kindle Fire are endless. I hope that adding this 21st Century technology to our class will keep all students engaged, energized, connected to the world and inspired to learn.
