I teach gifted and talented 4th graders in math and science at a school with an enrollment of 1100 children. I am presently responsible for our school garden which not only allows our K-5th grade population the opportunity to learn first hand about plants but we are also using the harvest from our garden to teach children about healthy eating. We are encouraging our families to start their own backyard gardens by providing them with workshops and free plants.
