My students are residents of a sleepy rural mountain town. We have beautiful views, clean air, and limited technology. There are those who have technology and there are those that don't. It has always astounded me by how some are able to use a touch screen phone to send a text message without even looking at the screen once, while others don't know how to send an email. My students are amazing. I am sure most teachers say that, however mine truly are. They are part of the community. I am part of the community. I see my students at the store, and they smile and wave. There are less than 300 students in my school. This has kept class sizes small. It has also limited their access to new technology.
