"Literacy is the most basic currency of the knowledge economy." Barack Obama More than 20 percent of adults read at or below a fifth-grade level - far below the level needed to earn a living wage. I don't want my students to become just a statistic! My goal every year is to help my students grow in their reading levels. In order to do this, they need to be reading a lot of books on their reading levels. These books will provide my lowest readers with quality books at their reading levels. My students work really hard to improve their reading, but need more access to books at their levels. This project will help to fill in those areas of my classroom library that are lacking.
