My fourth grade class is an active bunch who study in the midst of the Rocky Mountains. I love their youthful energy, but they easily lose focus during instruction time. Most are eager to learn but because of this difficulty paying attention many of them read well below grade level and experience other academic challenges. These challenges often leave some of my students feeling frustrated with themselves and with the learning experience. And that is not the outcome I want. Neither do my students nor their parents.
