We are a class of 32 brilliant 1st graders! We are currently involved in Cognitively Guided Instruction in math which is helping us to understand math in a more in depth way through problem solving and explaining our reasoning rather than memorizing math facts just to pass a test. This new way of learning has brought out some really excited mathematicians! Math is definitely the favorite subject amongst these problem solvers. Having the use of an Ipad in our classroom would promote student engagement and increase our productivity as problem solvers. The use of an Ipad in our classroom will help support small group instruction to reinforce concepts and promote problem solving. My student's are very hard workers who deserve the very best education I can provide for them and I believe an Ipad will reinvent how they grasp new mathematical concepts.

About my class
