I teach in a public school in a 1st grade classroom in California. My students love coming to school and are excited to learn to read and write. They get such great joy when they accomplish a task that it makes for a flourishing classroom environment. Technology such as iPads, and whiteboard systems have really changed the way we are able to teach. It engages the students in ways we never could before. We use iPads reinforcing reading skills, spelling, math, and science. We also use them for creating videos for students to record their projects and view them make a significant difference, in their understanding of the lessons, how to communicate their thought so that they are informative about their topic. The smile on their faces as they learn a concept or to see them on video talking about their project is inspiring. They are very proud of their efforts and accomplishments.
