My students are super excited and full of energy seventh graders. They are very diverse in abilities and learning styles. Ethnically our school is 90%+ Hispanic and 69% are English Learners. They come from low income families. For the previous reason I cannot ask their parents to donate school supplies at the beginning of the year. The funds at the school are not sufficient to purchase necessary supplies that will engage the students in learning. Pencil and paper is not enough to keep them motivated. The students are very inquisitive, always asking questions about any topic and not just math.
