My hardworking students are not bothered by their circumstances. They have the "I can" attitude because we instill in them the values of leadership and fitness which are our school's magnet focus. My students are in a Title 1 school in Charleston County School District. Here, approximately 90% receive free and reduced lunches. We have recently taken on two major initiatives: the Leader in Me and Personalized Learning. In Leader in Me the students are learning to behave and speak the language of a leader Here, they are learning to operate at their full potential. While in personalized learning, students are taking more responsibilities for their learning since the curriculum is geared towards meeting individual learning needs through technology and differentiation. My students are willing and excited to learn the processes and do well.
