Our school is an extremely diverse school full of hard-working students who often travel more than two hours each day to get to school. The students at my school come from neighborhoods across the city, and most of my students come from low-income homes where they cannot afford art materials or art classes. My students are eager to learn the craft of painting, and they are taking this Honors Painting class as an elective. Their choice to be in this class means they are dedicated to the arts and they take their work seriously. They are extremely focused, creative and brimming with ideas. They want to create work that will be showcased in our school and bring color to the blank walls.
