My students come from low socioeconomic families, with 90% of them qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Despite their challenges, they love school but struggle with understanding Business concepts. By engaging in Business curriculum such as Empowered they can now see how business principles relate to real-world scenarios, allowing them to construct their own understanding of the subject. For example, when we participated in Farmers Markets they grasped concepts like supply and demand dynamics and pricing strategies more intuitively. With the support of DonorsChoose, we can further enhance their learning by accessing resources that focus on personal finance skills, such as budgeting, saving, and investing, ensuring they are equipped with essential financial literacy for their future success.
