My middle school students are eager, enthusiastic, wonderful children who happen to live in an impoverished area. Many of them come from single parent households and can not afford to buy computers, ipads, etc. I challenge my students everyday to inquire, research and reach for the stars when it comes to their own education however many of them do not have access to computers at home so they can not do these things. Our school is in a budget crisis as is everyone else these days and we don't even have a computer in my class for them to use. I ask my students to type essays, compositions, etc. because I want them to be tech savvy but as you see this is a major challenge. I just want my students to succeed and I need to give them the chance to do so. A laptop computer would greatly benefit the students in my classes in more ways than one could imagine. Please help me help my students succeed in the 21st century and without technology I am afraid they don't have much of a chance.
