The students that make up my classroom come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Over half of my students speak a second language. Many students were not born in the U.S. They're children who desire exposure to all possible opportunities. Our school provides extracurricular opportunities for students that aren't found at all sites. We have before school band, after school art lessons, and music programs throughout the school day. My students know that I have high standards and expectations of them, whether it be during reading groups, math centers, science labs, art, or out at physical education. They work to achieve their personal best at all times. Overall, my students have parents who put education first and expect a high quality of teaching.
