What happens when you change job roles after 28 years? In my case, it results in a new excitement for what I can do with my students. I am now a gifted resource teacher in grades 1-5 in a small county in Georgia. Being small has its advantages because it allows education to be more personal, but limited resources make it hard to keep up with the rest of the world Schools everywhere have been hit hard by cuts in funding. It has been especially hard in our community. Our teachers truly do a lot with a little, which has resulted in our schools being very well respected across the state. The lack of current technology restricts how well we can prepare students to be ready to thrive in the 21st century. My students are amazing! They absorb everything and are eager to write (even on notebook paper!) I am excited about the possibility of using emerging technology as we dive into the digital world!
