My students come from humble homes. Their families are migrant farm workers who are just trying to make enough money to feed their families. They rely on teachers to teach their children everything they need to know. My school, in a suburb of Sacramento County, was built in 1859. The portable building I am in has been there since the 1960s. The only technology my classroom has is a TV and an old VCR. Our PTA cannot raise enough money from parents to fund technology for the classrooms. My students are extremely polite and kind. They spend their recess time helping each other study and learn the curriculum. They are completely deserving of modern technology that so many other students in the school district have. This little school has been forgotten by the school district. Please help them achieve their dreams of going to college and making a better life for themselves.
