On a regular basis, students are working in different places in the classroom. Right now they transition from desks, to the carpet, to a cushion sit spot to complete their learning. I feel that by having more flexible seating choices in the room, students will be able to try out different work spaces and find one that supports the learner they are or the mood they are in. Funding my project with wobble chairs and a rectangular kid-sized table means they have a new option to pick from. When a child has some choice about where they will or who they may work with I know they have a better attitude toward the work. A positive and child friendly room environment can strengthen the learning that takes place. During our S.T.E.A.M. tasks, students will also have a new work space to utilize and having an extra table to show off projects will be helpful too.
