My school is a charter school which promotes restoring America's heritage, developing servant leaders, and providing a classical education for all of our scholars. I believe that "going back to the basics"--reading the classics, writing about them, and discussing them--is vital and which is why I am so passionate about teaching and creating a culture of readers. One of our school wide goals this year is to develop a culture of readers. Going into my eighth year of elementary teaching, I know how important it is to build a community of readers who learn the joys of reading from an early age. My students look forward to going to our classroom library to discover new books. It is my dream that I can add more books so they will continue to foster students' love and interest in books.
