Journalism is a new class at our school, so the students have limited supplies. Everything they have has been worked for by the students. For example, we did a unit on advertising where they learned how to conduct themselves in an ad sales presentation, scheduled their own meetings, and sold $2,500 worth of ads in one day! We used these funds to pay postage, pay for our news site, and stick money back for next year's renewal fee. These students are hard workers, and they are passionate about their publication. They desperately want to grow this program. We are in a public school setting and our school serves four communities. These communities are supportive of their school, and we've had wonderful readership to our site already.

About my class
