My classroom is a collaborative space that allows students to work on rigorous math and science content. They will gather on the carpet for community-building activities as well as academic practice and collaboration. We use whiteboards almost daily, especially in math. Using the workshop model, students use whiteboards for guided practice and to show their understanding of strategies. Students use the markers and erasers often, so the multiple markers and erasers in the kit will come in handy for them. Additionally, the math and science book sets will be wonderful additions to the classroom library that will allow students to connect literacy with math and science in engaging ways. I also recognize the importance of providing different seating options for students, such as standing tables, to help them concentrate. By donating to our project, you will help to both improve and increase student engagement and academic achievement in our 5th-grade math and science space. Students will be able to have the resources and materials they need to help them learn and grow academically and socially.
